We have an immediate opening for an Orthodontic Assistant to work at our large multi-specialty office American Dental Center- Union, NJ. This is a part-time Orthodontic Assistant position consisting of Tuesday's, Wednesday's, alternating Thursday's, and Saturday's. We are looking for an Orthodontic Assistant that has 1-2 years experience working in an Orthodontic office. Candidates must be x-ray certified in the state of New Jersey and have formal training to be considered for this position, although OJT candidates are encouraged to apply. We are looking for an enthusiastic Orthodontic Assistant, immediate placement for the right team player.

Responsibilities

Orthodontic Assistants play an important role in the overall operations of our dental practice. They perform chair side assisting with preparing and maintaining dental instruments and instrument transfer; deliver patient personal oral hygiene instructions; prepare dental materials to include cements and impression materials, removing excess cement from brackets and orthodontic bands; pour impressions and trimming plaster models for labs and presentation; conduct instrument cleaning, sterilization/Disinfection, re-circulation, and operatory disinfection; bracket set-up, among other clinical duties.

 

Qualifications

Desired skills:

  • Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA) for the state in which you will work
  • Prior Orthodontic Dental Assistant experience is a must to be considered 
  • X-ray certification for the state in which you will work is a must
  • Formal Training for the state in which you work preferred
