  • Overview

    We are hiring a full-time Dental Insurance and Billing Specialist for our affiliated practice, Dental Associates of Northern Virginia - Dvorak & Polifko, located in Woodbridge, VA 22191. This position will be reviewing patient accounts ensuring for accuracy; making telephone calls to various dental insurance companies for explanation of reimbursement reasons for payments, over payments, or denials; and adjusting patient accounts due to out of network issues. Candidates must be familiar with dental codes, insurance processes, billing and collection experience preferred. Denticon experience a plus. This position offers a competitive salary, plus benefits.

    Responsibilities

    Essential responsibilities include:

    • Detailed audit of patient account activity
    • Review of dental claim payments
    • Enters, audits and posts offset line items
    • Process refunds to insurance companies and patients
    • Reporting of audit results
    • Other duties as required

    Qualifications

    Desired Skills:

    • Must have dental insurance and billing experience, 2 + years
    • Knowledge of dental insurance plans to include HMO, PPO, and indemnity plans
    • Understanding of dental Explanation of Benefits (EOB's)
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Familiarity with Microsoft applications
    • General knowledge of internet navigation and research, e-mail, fax transmission, copy equipment, and insurance billing
